Calling ALL folks with a flair for creativity.  The Cottage Farmhouse is hosting its annual Harvest Scene Design Contest and there are BIG cash prizes.

The Cottage Farm Stand opened in Owensboro last year when Marlena Knight and her husband, David who own Knight farms had a wonderful vision of bringing the community together in a whole new way. When you drive up to the beautiful old farmhouse you feel right at home.

They have worked super hard to create awesome events.  For the second year in a row they are hosting the Harvest Scene Design Contest and they're asking schools, non-profit organizations, community and youth groups, businesses, and families to participate.

Here are the rules:

  • Scenes must contain at least one scarecrow.
  • 1 vote per person per day for the month of October.

Hurry and get registered.  There are only 30 spaces available for the
contest and prizes will be awarded to first and second place.  The first place receives $300 and the second place gets $100.

If you haven't ever been out to The Cottage they have a full espresso bar, serve breakfast sandwiches, and delicious treats (caramel bars are my fav), and tons of community events.

This weekend they will the Local Artisan Fair with lots of vendors, crafts, pumpkins, mums, and a pumpkin decorating station on Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
