This Saturday, Owensboro, KY is going to be the official starting line of The Great Race 2024. Hundreds of classic cars are being shipped into town, where they'll embark on a road race that takes them from Owensboro to Gardiner, Maine over the course of nine exciting, but challenging days.

Here in town, we're gearing up for their arrival and the excitement and anticipation are building.

So, what exactly is The Great Race?

We actually have a hometown team from right here in Owensboro that's set to compete. Brian Smith and Scott Howard have spent months preparing for and practicing for their big adventure. Here's a look at the car they'll be competing in.
