It has been thirteen years since the last festival of its kind.  But, in 2019, the Owensboro Daviess County Motorsports Festival will return to the tristate!  The festival will feature a weekend of special events that include racing at local tracks, a huge Family Fun Day, racing celebrity appearances and more.

The return of the Owensboro Daviess County Motorsports Festival was announced Saturday at Speedzeum in downtown Owensboro.  The relaunch of the festival is the brainchild of the members of the Owensboro Daviess County Motorsports Festival Council, which is made up of Nathan Conway, Blake Smith and Wes Luallen.  The board is comprised of many recognizable names in local racing- Jimmy Westerfield, Army Armstrong, Paul Dornburg, Tim Banks and Steve Johnson.

The 2019 event is scheduled for August 2nd, 3rd and 4th and will begin with an evening of racing at Windy Hollow.

Classes will include (subject to change): the AMS Modified Racing Series, Cruisers, Rusty Bolt, Bomber, Mini-Stock, Ohio Valley Lightning Sprints and more.  Plus, there will be a meet-and-greet with drivers and photo opps with race cars on site!

The middle day of the 2019 Owensboro Daviess County Motorsports Festival will be the Family Fun Day at the Owensboro Sportscenter.  It is going to be incredible and feature a driver meet-and-greet, simulators, iRacing, educational seminars about racing, inflatables, and more.  Plus, a few local car clubs like Eyeballerz and Sunset Cruisers will be on hand with some incredible classic cars on display.  More details about the FREE Family Fun Day will be announced later.  But this is going to be an awesome, hands-on, up-close-and-personal event for everyone.

The festival will close on Sunday, August 4th with a full day of events.  The fun begins Sunday morning with the Old School Drivers Reunion Breakfast and Sports Car Club of America Road Rally at Windy Hollow Restaurant.

Then, there will be an afternoon and evening of racing at Kentucky Motor Speedway- with CRA Street Stocks, the Outlaw Figure 8s, Sportsman, Thunderstocks, Legends Cars and more (lineup subject to change).  Plus, there will a final opportunity for meet-and-greets with cars and drivers.

Here at WBKR, we are thrilled to be one of the presenting sponsors of this event and cannot wait to be involved.  So, save the dates!  August 2nd, 3rd and 4th.  The triumphant return of the Owensboro Daviess County Motorsports Festival!
