This Owensboro Baker is Making Western Kentucky Sweeter One Sugarbutt at a Time
I wouldn't say I am one to discriminate against a sweet treat, but I do know not all are created equal. Whether you are looking for a little something special to surprise your family, a beautiful dessert for a wedding shower or party, or just want to treat yourself, I know a local baker who will make you say "Better Crocker who?
Ashley Stewart of Sugarbutt Sweets can whip up basically anything your heart desires, and it's going to be delicious because it's made with love. "I love to bake for folks because of their reactions and the happiness it brings." Her passion for spreading joy to others comes through in every bite.
Here are some cupcakes she made for my best friend's baby shower. They were probably the best cupcakes I've ever had! I dream about them sometimes.
You can find Ashley at the Owensboro Regional Farmer's Market most Saturdays with a full menu of all kinds of goodies. Huge cookies with creative ingredients, sweet and moist (sorry for using that word, but they really are!) breads, cakes, and more!
Here's a close-up of those made-from-scratch Cosmic Brownies. Watch out, Little Debbie!
Her chocolate chip cookies will have you running for a glass of milk they are literally the best I've ever had. Keep these in mind when you are preparing for Santa this Christmas. The big man deserves the very best.
Some other favorites of Ashley's I had never tried anywhere before. Orange dreamsicle, Cookie Monster, Red Velvet with white chocolate chips and a brownie in the center! Her fruity pebbles cookies are great too. Sometimes she puts a rice krispie treat surprise in the middle.
Speaking of cookies, why have one when you can have two? With icing in the middle? Yes, please! Here is a Sugarbutt Oatmeal Creme Pie. Ashley made these for a WBKR tailgate and we all fought over them.
She also surprised me with an absolutely stunning cake for my birthday. The butterflies were edible! It was almost too pretty to eat, but we got over that real fast when we realized how good it was. Chocolate with a chocolate mousse in between layers. Seriously, this picture does not do it justice. It was a work of art.
I could go on and on spotlighting the goodness of Sugarbutt Sweets. Facebook has so many photos that will make your mouth water and information about how to order from Ashley. With the holidays coming up, let her do your baking for you.
Did anybody say Pumpkin Rolls?
