They're two, they're four, they're six, they're eight, they're heading to Kentucky at the end of the month. Or at least Thomas is!

When my son Rollins was younger, he LOVED trains. Obsessed would be a better word to describe how he spent his days playing, watching, and drawing all things Thomas & Friends. We sang all of the songs and read all of the books with valuable lessons of friendship, hard work, and positivity. Our living room coffee table was actually just his train track table; that's how much he loved trains.

From the old school stop motion version with George Carlin as the conductor to the newer computer-animated movies, he knew every story in the Thomas universe. His second birthday party was Thomas-themed, and I made giant cutouts that looked like his favorite locomotives. So, his uncle Adam gave him tickets to meet the famous blue train at A Day Out With Thomas.

We had the best day ever making crafts, dancing, enjoying the magic show, playing games, and when the big blue star of the show rolled into the station, Rollins jumped up and down, unable to contain his excitement. Full disclosure, he was VERY skeptical of Sir Topham Hatt, but we got a hilarious photo out of it.

I don't blame him. I never really liked him either. Once we boarded the train car, we enjoyed the ride just click-clacking down the track until returning to the station to snag a souvenir. Creating memories that will last a lifetime!

When is the 2025 Day Out With Thomas in Kentucky?

Thomas the Train and Sir Topham Hatt will be rolling into the Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven, Kentucky, May 31st-June 1st, and the following weekend, June 7th-8th.
