Treaty Oak Revival Show in Evansville Goes Viral For Rowdy ‘Boomtown’ Crowd

Heavy Metal crowds get a lot of grief for mosh pits, violent headbanging, and body bashing. However! Some country concerts I have seen lately make Louder Than Life look like a playground of kindergarteners. Of course, the party boys of the olden days (lookin' at you, Hank Jr!) are legendary for having rowdy friends, so this really is nothing new.

Treaty Oak Revival Concert at the Ford Center

Videos from the recent Treaty Oak Revival concert at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana, are going viral for capturing the WILD atmosphere Friday night, February 20th. That stop on their West Texas Degenerate Tour really lived up to its name with fights breaking out and beer either being thrown or chugged from a prosthetic leg. Yes. A prosthetic leg.

Apparently, this rowdy behavior is not a surprise to the true Treaty Oak fans, but can you imagine showing up with no clue? That would be quite the shock. I saw folks who came prepared with ponchos because they knew that a river of Busch Light would soon rain down.

Frontman Sam Canty, and guitarist, Lance Vanley, have both shared in previous interviews that they love to hype up the crowd. When you play songs like "Boomtown," it's easy to do.

They've made "beer showers" a tradition, especially during that song, but they also obviously understand that things can get out of hand. Trying to control thousands of drunk people is not an easy task, so shout out to those brave souls working the Treaty Oak show security.

Then I came across a clip of the aforementioned frontman tossing his pick into the crowd and abruptly walking off. I haven't heard whether it was due to the unruly fans or if he had to potty or something?

Don't Throw Stuff... You Learned This in Kindergarten, People

According to country music news outlet Whiskey Riff, Sam's wife, Kelsi, is about to hop in and handle things herself. She is not too happy about people throwing stuff (other than beer) around. The band preaches to ONLY TOSS BEER. Not the cup, container, bottle, or prosthetic leg the beer is in, but people just don't seem to listen.

I don't personally understand because I don't waste a drop of beer at an arena show if I can help it. They are too expensive! Haha! What do you think?  Is it time to re-evaluate behavior in the pit?
