Much of the Tri-State is on Spring Break and if you didn't head to the beach and your looking for something fun to do within driving distance we've compiled a list for you.

Right here in Owensboro, we have several places to go including over 25 parks between the Owensboro-Daviess County Parks Systems.  Whether you are interested in taking a hike at Panther or Yellow Creek Park or you can even work out at Legion with the whole family right beside the playground.  Smothers Park is a great place to spend the day.  You can pack a lunch and a blanket and have lunch on the lawn or right on the river at the tables near the playground.

Reid's Orchard & Trunnell's are great places to visit.  Reidland is open for Spring Break week and you can even visit the brand-new baby goat Holly.  Trunnell's has all their animals out and ready to play or you can roam the farm with your friends.

Chaney's Dairy Barn in Bowling Green is a super short drive down the Natcher.  Our family loves to play on the playground and then get ice cream afterward.  They even have self-guided tours through the dairy barn.  Where you can see the cows being milked and how the milk is processed and made.

Dinosaur World is in Cave City just beyond Bowling Green and a hidden gem in Kentucky for the kiddos.  Our family visited for the first time during Fall Break and they loved it.  The life-sized replicas of different dinosaurs seem so real.  They also have a museum with fossils and education videos.

Mesker Zoo in Evansville is perfect for a relaxing slow-paced day.  Our family loves to visit the giraffes and zebras.  You can even visit Mechi the one-horned rhino.

Louisville Zoo is possibly one of the best zoos around the Tri-State area.  The kids love seeing all the different animals and play structures around the zoo.  Quite possibly the most popular exhibit is Gorilla Forest.  So many different gorillas and you feel like you're right with them inside their habitats.

Nashville Zoo has almost 3,000 animals from over 300 different species.  They are constantly offering different events to the community and you can even stay the night.

Night Owl programs include; ed-zoocational activities, games, and crafts. Experience the Zoo with a guided walk at night and in the morning. Plus, meet two of our Ambassador Animals! A light evening snack and morning breakfast are provided along with admission to the Zoo following your program.

Patti's 1880 Settlement & Kentucky Lake. Patti's is located in Grand Rivers, Kentucky about three miles off the interstate. You can literally make a day out of just parking and walking around Grand Rivers.  If you want to just stroll around and relax with lots of sightseeing you'll love visiting.
