Tristate Under an Enhanced Threat of Severe Weather Tonight

We knew we had a chance of severe weather this evening here in the WBKR listening area.  Over the weekend, that chance of severe weather grew from a SLIGHT chance to an ENHANCED risk. As you can see, that threat covers all of the tristate.

The latest National Weather Service forecast says we should expect potentially severe weather to approach the tristate near the end of the day into the evening.  And it could last until early Tuesday morning.

From NWS:  There is an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms across the area, mainly toward the end of the day and especially tonight. Damaging winds will be the primary hazard. As is almost always the case, a brief spin up tornado cannot be ruled out, along with marginally severe hail.

Earlier, Ron Rhodes (from Eyewitness News) shared details of the forecast and what we can/should expect here in the tristate.  While all threats are in play, he says the primary threat is wind and we could see straight line winds up to 70mph.
