Tupac Shakur Unemployment Claim No Prank, Beshear Apologizes

During his Monday afternoon address to Kentucky, Governor Andy Beshear was perturbed by an unemployment claim filing he assumed was a prank.

Saying that a couple of bad apples can slow down the process, Beshear mentioned an unemployment claim that had been filed under the name Tupac Shakur, the late legendary rapper who was murdered in 1996.

Well, that also happens to be the real name of the man who filed the claim which, we now know, was NOT a prank.

The Hill reports that Beshear has reached out to personally apologize to Shakur, who works as a cook at a Lexington restaurant that closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Shakur, who legally changed his name after the rap star's death, filed for unemployment March 13th.

Shakur has accepted the governor's apology.
