After several days of sunny skies and amazing weather, the tristate faces the potential for severe weather today.  According the National Weather Service and our friends at Eyewitness News, we could see two separate waves of it.

The first wave of potential storms is expected later this morning.  A second round of potentially severe weather could roll through the tristate tonight.  According to Ron Rhodes from Eyewitness News, that second bout really depends on how much sunshine (if any) we see this afternoon.  Sunshine will create additional instability in the atmosphere and that could cause strengthening storms this evening when our expected cool front moves through.
