UK Football Off to Best SEC Start in 41 Years
In the fall of 1977, I was a brand new sixth-grader. The Love Boat was beginning its first season. And Jimmy Carter was President.
Mississippi State is a part of BOTH starts.
I wish I'd watched that game but I had a bunch of stuff to do and left when I saw the score:
Mississippi State 7 Kentucky 0
And, no, I don't record games. Bad luck.
Since the 'Cats looked really good in that road win over Florida, I didn't see any reason to believe they couldn't beat the 14th-ranked team in the country.
But, in the back of my mind, I was wondering...are we going to get one of those "Kentucky football reality checks," where they have a really good win but then, sort of, meander through the rest of the season.
I don't want to pile on, but I've seen scenarios like that play out a number of times before.
But this team is different. And then there's this tweet:
And UK also has Josh Allen:
And UK will be ranked in football come Sunday. It's been a long time, and it's nice.
