According to the Kentucky State Police, detectives are investigating the shooting of a McLean County man.  Troopers were notified around 11:30 a.m. by the McLean County Sheriff’s Department of a shooting at 406 Mulberry Street in Livermore.

The preliminary investigation reveals the homeowner of 406 Mulberry was outside grilling when an acquaintance to the homeowner drove by and stopped in the street. An argument ensued which turned physical. The homeowner retreated back inside his residence where the acquaintance gave chase. Another physical altercation occurred inside the residence in which the homeowner brandished a .40 caliber pistol; shooting the acquaintance once in the head.

McLean County emergency personnel transported the shot male to Owensboro Health where he is going through emergency surgery. His condition is currently unknown.

The homeowner sustained minor injuries from the assault.  

The identities are being withheld for now pending interviews and notifications. More to follow as it becomes available.

The investigation is on-going.
