Southern Indiana Nature Preserve Offers Soothing “Sound Bath” Experience
You don't have to convince me of how important music is in our lives. Music has the ability to transport us to a specific place and time, bringing back the most vivid memories. Music can make us smile from ear to ear, it can make us jump and dance and sing. Music can also break our hearts by reminding us of painful times. Music can do all that and more. Some say music can heal too, and you'll have the chance to experience that for yourself.
What is a Sound Bath?
Sound therapist, meditation teacher, and author, Sara Auster, defines a sound bath as "a deeply-immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to NURTURE YOUR MIND AND BODY." Wesselman Woods is giving you the opportunity to bathe in the music, so to speak.

Wesselman Woods has invited Rebecca Samples to host a sound bath on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 9am. Rebecca is a sound healer, energy worker, and Earth Medicine Practitioner. Her company, Healing Strings, provides sound healing and spiritual coaching. Rebecca will use her instruments - crystal singing bowls, a gong, stringed instruments, drums, a flute, her voice, and more - to "wash you with positive vibrations and let the song of nature give you a sense of well-being, groundedness, and joy of being alive."
Admission to the sound bath is just $5 and all participants need to pre-register. Guests will also need to bring their own mat, blankets, pillows, or anything else that will help them get nice and relaxed. The sound bath will take place on the hill next to Odonata Pond at Wesselman Woods.
