Western Kentucky Man Donates Doll Collection to Honor His Beloved Wife
Seeing acts of kindness to help those in need is always heartwarming. This summer, a grieving husband did just that. After his wife passed away, he donated her doll collection to Christmas Wish. What a great way to honor her memory and spread joy to others.
MEET CLARICE BROWN
Clarice Clark Brown, 65, of Dixon, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, leaving behind a heartbroken family, including her husband of 45 years, Mark Brown. Described as compassionate, artistic, and an all-around great person, Clarice had a deep passion for collecting vintage Barbies and Cabbage Patch Dolls, with hundreds scattered throughout her home.
After her passing, Mark gifted many of the dolls to her beloved grandchildren and family members. However, he felt lost about what to do next with so many remaining. This is where Christmas Wish stepped in, ready to help honor Clarice’s legacy by bringing joy to children during the holiday season.
BROWN FAMILY MAKES HUGE DONATION
Mark donated her vintage dolls to Christmas Wish, spreading joy and nostalgia! The collection, featuring dolls from various eras, will be given to children in need, bringing smiles and cherished memories to many this holiday season. It took two trips to fill the van with all the dolls, ensuring that Clarice’s passion continues to brighten the lives of many. Through tears, Mark told me that Clarice enjoyed collecting them on travels, in shops, and online. Each doll carries a piece of history so it was hard to let them go, but he knew it was the right thing to do. Thinking about how they’ll create new memories for the kids receiving them is wonderful. Christmas is going to be hard for the Brown family this year. But, hopefully, this generous donation will help them remember all the joy Clarice brought them in her life, and now bring more happiness to others!
For this, we're forever grateful. The Brown family’s kindness will surely be felt by many this holiday season.
