Summer Fridays are always exciting in Owensboro as downtown is filled with folks enjoying local restaurants, street vendors, and live music stretching along Smother's Park from The Riverpark Center to the Convention Center.

Tonight, organizers of Friday After Five are expecting one of the biggest crowds yet because the entertainment is going to be top notch. The Crashers, DJ Shay and Kidd G, and two of Owensboro's favorite local musicians Mitchell Douglas with his new group The Sons of Habit and Cam Thompson.

Cam actually has a really big weekend of music ahead. Beginning with the release of his newest song "Man Out Of Me" that came out this morning. Co-written by Nashville artist Emma Zinck and Owensboro songwriter, Travis Chaney of Ace High Music.

"I told myself I wouldn’t take any outside cuts unless I related to a song enough to where I heard myself singing those words. The second I heard 'Man Out Of Me" I knew I wanted to cut it. It was a lot of fun recording the song down in Nashville and I’m excited for everyone to get to hear it," Cam shared. Here it is! Turn it up and take a listen.

You can also stream on Spotify and Apple Music here. The song is so clever and heartfelt with a super catchy melody, and from the originals I have heard from Cam in the past, it definitely fits his vibe. He'll be singing it for the first time live tonight at Friday After Five. You can catch him on the Atmos Energy Stage at the Riverpark Center 7-9PM.

Tomorrow night, July 20th at The Grand Stable at 7735 KY-144 in Philpot, Cam is throwing a big ole party and performing with the fellas of Kalico. Opening acts will be Mitchell Douglas & Sons of Habit and our good friend Gavin Howard!

J's Good Grub and Dog-Gon-It Hot Dog/Lemonade Cart will be serving it up along with a cash bar.  VIP tables seat ten people and are $250, General Admission tickets are $15, and you can purchase them online here or at the door. Party starts at 6PM and music begins at 7PM. The best part of it all? Proceeds benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital.
