Guess Which Part of Kentucky Is Winning Everything Right Now
The Guide to Kentucky just published its list of the 2026 Best of Kentucky winners. That guide, by the way, celebrates the best of the best here in the Commonwealth in a variety of categories ranging from Arts & Entertainment to Weddings & Events and virtually everything else in between.
Two different western Kentucky venues picked up top honors in the Arts & Entertainment division. One of them is in Owensboro. The other sits in Ohio County.
First up- The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum snagged top honors in the Best Museum category.

It, of course, sits in downtown Owensboro, which is hailed as the Bluegrass Music Capital of the World. In addition to taking visitors through a comprehensive history of bluegrass music, the museum also sponsors an annual (and epic) bluegrass music festival called ROMP.
Here's a look at this year's lineup.

ROMP 2026 is set for June 24th through the 27th at Yellow Creek Park- just outside the city limits.
That leads us to the second western Kentucky venue that snagged a Best of Kentucky honor. The Guide to Kentucky named the Beaver Dam Amphitheatre as the Best Theatre Venue in the state.

There's no doubt that the amphitheatre has earned that award and reputation. For instance, it's currently well into its 2026 season, which features something for every music lover.
Hank Williams Jr. performed a SOLD OUT show there at the end of May and the venue is gearing up for upcoming shows with more legendary acts: The Kentucky Headhunters, Kansas & 38 Special, Wynonna & Melissa Etheridge, Bret Michaels, Dwight Yoakam, Nelly, and more.
