When you drive east on I-64 or the Bluegrass Parkway or north on I-71, you see a lot of brown road signs pointing you toward a vast array of bourbon distilleries.

Of course, Bardstown is the Bourbon Capital of the Worlds. That's why folks from all over the globe flock to central Kentucky annually to experience the process of creating some of the finest bourbon on the planet.

But some of the finest bourbon on the planet is also created in western Kentucky, a fact Wild West of Kentucky Bourbon is capitalizing on in a new campaign.

Launching on October 1st, 2024, this new initiative frames this region of the Commonwealth as the "untamed frontier of the West" in the world of bourbon-distilling.

As the Hopkinsville-Christian County Convention & Visitors Bureau Tourism Director, Amy Rogers, indicates, the campaign will focus on "a region where tradition blends with a hint of rebellious spirit."

One of the main points of the campaign is how crowded the distillery experience in central Kentucky is. Rogers says the western Kentucky campaign is about "delivering exceptional bourbons in a more relaxed and crowd-free setting." The focus of the campaign will be distilleries in Owensboro (Green River Distilling Company); Franklin (Dueling Grounds); Hopkinsville (Casey Jones Distillery); Graham (The Bard); and Pembroke (MB Roland Distillery).

On October 1st, look for the Wild West of Kentucky Bourbon website to explode with resources, stories, and insights in the Western Kentucky bourbon scene. The launch will also include social media releases and a collectible card which will represent each of the distilleries in the campaign.

Just like the pioneers centuries ago, bourbon has expanded to the West, and it's time to put it in the spotlight.

What Are the Signature Drinks From Every State?

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
