When we were in Panama City Beach, Florida this past spring, my friend Heather and I went to karaoke night at a little dive bar called The Alibi. We signed up and sat down at a table when a woman came over and introduced herself. Party Patty! She was a HOOT and told us about how she hosts Fireball Music Bingo once a week.

The way Music Bingo works, you have your Bingo card and instead of letters and numbers, your squares have song titles in them. Party Patty made playlists of them and as she skips from song to song, if you hear one that is on your card, you mark it off. Here's where the Fireball part comes in. When she plays the song "Fireball" by Pitbull, if you're the first to yell it, she chucks a little bottle of cinnamon whiskey at ya.

Y'all, when I say we had a BLAST!! We were singing, dancing, laughing, and racking up on some sweet prizes. I wish it wasn't all the way down in Florida so we could go more often.

Owensboro Pub on Second Hosting Singo Nights

However, good news! I just saw on Facebook that a downtown Owensboro bar is gearing up to start hosting something just like it called Singo. The Pub on Second is kicking things off tonight at 7 PM and plans to make it a regular event. "We’re all really looking forward to bringing new games, drinks, and experiences to this community," JM Hoffman told me. He is the host with the most who will keep the party going! He'll also be making special cocktails and martinis will be $1 off!

What is Singo?

Singo works just like the Music Bingo I described above. You get your card and listen to the playlist of snippets from popular songs that are played. Anything from Miley Cyrus to Bruce Springsteen to the Notorious B.I.G. When you guess what it is, you mark off the square.  I don't think the Pub is tossing bottles of Fireball, but you never know! Maybe we can sweet-talk them into adding that fun little perk.

So head on down, grab a drink, get your Singo card, lucky troll, and dobber ready to play!
