Jaclyn Graves

Jaclyn Graves was born in Jackson, TN, but grew up Milan, TN and Mayfield, KY. Go Cardinals! Jaclyn is a true performing artist. She started singing in public at the age of six at the First Baptist Church in Milan. She auditioned and beat out all the nine and ten-year-olds. Her mother, Janet said, “I didn’t even know she liked to sing!” Jaclyn’s first professional appearances were weddings, a job she still performs frequently and also performs with her band at various local clubs and events. She has opened for such artists as Eric Church, Gary Allan, Kellie Pickler, Rodney Atkins, Montgomery Gentry and more. When Jaclyn was in high school, she traveled to Paris, France, with a vocal group led by Bob Westbrook of Memphis that is famous for being the vocal teacher for Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Britney Spears – just to name a few. While there, she performed in Latin at Notre Dame Cathedral. Later in the trip, the group performed modern music in English at Euro Disney. Jaclyn attended Western Kentucky University, majoring in criminology and sociology where she was also a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Jaclyn went on to work with the WKU men’s basketball team for 3 ½ years which was her favorite job ever – well besides being a DJ on WBKR. She is a big sports fan, so she loved it! Hilltopper for life! When Jaclyn started at WBKR, she had no previous broadcast experienced. She met Chad when she entered a local talent contest. She came to WBKR after being offered a guest deejay appearance; she went over so well, she was invited to joining the morning team. Jaclyn left when her daughter Carsyn was born and returned in January 2011 to the midday show. Jaclyn loves singer Luke Bryan and pro quarterback Aaron Rogers. “ Hmmm-hmm…” That’s what she says when she hears their names… Jaclyn says, “The best thing about working at WBKR is it is so much fun! I love the music and a chance to be a part of the community. But if I could be doing anything else it would be a country music singer, with a record deal, hit-songs and touring. It makes me a little jealous to play all of these artists who are doing what I want to do!”

Jac’s Hottie of the Week [VIDEO]

Each Saturday morning, you (hopefully) tune in to hear Chad and Dave count down your top ten songs of the week in our BKR's Dozen Countdown. Each week I join the boys for a few minutes to give my "Hottie of the Week". And, no...it's not always about what they look like, haha! This is a song that I pick that I think will end up in the top ten in our countdown. But, sometimes, I do get lucky and have a "Double-Hottie"! (Awesome song and a cutie-pie or two!)

This week is one of those weeks, ha!

JoDee Messina Asks Fans For Help To Be “Unbreakable” [VIDEO]

I had the pleasure of spending time with Jo Dee Messina last August at the Big O Music Fest. She was such a nice, genuine person and it really made my respect for her as an artist and an individual grow. Since then, I've been following her on Twitter. This past week, I noticed that she was really excited about a project she was working on alongside of Alyssa Bonagura. She was asking her Twitter followers to take photos of themselves with words such as "Dig Deep", "Stronger" and "Unbreakable", just to name a few.

Well, the waiting is over and the finished project is here! She and Alyssa wrote a great song, "Unbreakable", made an inspiring video and put the fan pictures in it.

Be one of the first to take a look at this uplifting project!

Carsyn Discovers Her Love For Makeup

Well, I knew if Carsyn were anything like her Momma, she would be a girly-girl. Looks like, she is, haha! For a good while now she has really been watching me put on my make-up. She always wants me to put some on her too, of course! Now, I'm not gonna let my three year-old walk around like she's on an episode of Toddlers and Tiaras, so she'd just get a teeny-tiny bit of blush and lip gloss.

For Valentine's Day her Meme gave her a special kit of make-up, just for her. Do you think she loves it? Well, on a scale from one to ten...she's at about a 14!!

High School Girls Basketball Is All Grown Up!

Monday night Carsyn was set to perform at halftime of the Owensboro Catholic/Ohio County girls game. She attending a Catholic cheer clinic over the weekend and this was their big night! (Now, of course she and the other girls were precious, but I'm going a different direction here, ha!)

I'll be honest, the first thing I thought when we sat down in the gym was, "Ugh...the last thing I want to do is watch girls basketball." Sorry, but true! Well, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! And, even thou Duke-bound Becca Greenwell sat the game out to rest her knee (that's just my guess!), those girls were pretty dang good!
