On the way back from Panama City Beach, we made a stop at a Marathon market in Luverne, Alabama--a town always in the right place at the right time, since we grabbed lunch there on the way down.

The following sign--with a story behind it--was taped to the register at the front:

When you enter Luverne, you're reminded that is a very friendly town. It's on all the signs. So, I guess in order, to keep it friendly, a "friendly" reminder was displayed at this market.

The clerk, Lawana, wanted me to make sure I let everyone know it's the Marathon by the Auto Zone, not the other.

Since a LOT of people pass by this place on their way to Panama City Beach, it has high traffic.

It also has, according to Lawana, enough rude people glued to their mobiles to warrant this message.

She was also quick to let me know it's not the kids who are the guilty parties. It's older folks who stand there on their phones, barely paying attention to what they're doing and paying even less attention to the one waiting on them.

Lawana also said that the offenders will barely speak, but just wait til you accidentally give them the wrong pack of cigarettes!

Look out.

She was a blast and this market came in handy. And that sign put a smile on my face.
