Students Biking Across The Country Make Stop In Owensboro

A few months ago we told you about a group of students from Western Kentucky University, Bike 4 Alz, planning to bike across the country in hopes of raising $175,000 for Alzheimer's research. Well, theyare about 1,000 miles into their journey and made a stop here in Owensboro.

They stopped by the studio this afternoon and I really enjoyed their visit. They are SO much fun and I hope that they not only meet, but exceed their goal!

They will be making several appearances in town today and tomorrow starting with Friday After Five tonight downtown. They even have two hometown boys on the team.

Apollo High School Employee Arrested For Juvenile Sexual Abuse Allegations

Via The Owensboro Police Department:

On April 10, 2012, the Owensboro Police Department was contacted by Social Services in reference to a case involving the sexual abuse of a juvenile. A detective was assigned to investigate the allegations.

The investigation has revealed that the suspect in this case was an employee at Apollo High School, and that he allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a 17 year-old student. The suspect has been indicted by the Daviess County Grand Jury and was arrested on an indictment warrant. He is lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
