UK’s Anthony Davis to Play for U.S. Olympic Team
With the Summer Olympics fast approaching in London in a few months, now is a really bad time for Team USA to start resembling a hospital ward. But that's just about what has happened.

It is hard to believe it's time for Owensboro's famous International Barbecue Festival. A week from Friday it opens and all the great barbecue aromas and thick, blinding smoke will waft through downtown. WBKR will be broadcasting from the event on both days. My favorite year was 2009. I was joined on the air by Kizzy and on the streets by lovely Mrs. Moon.
Wildcats vs. Hoosiers. Wildcats vs. Tar Heels. Wildcats vs. Cardinals. Last fall, UK coach John Calipari called upon Big Blue Nation to help him determine which, if any, of these three annual rivalry games should be dropped if it was necessary--the thought being that the SEC would be going to an 18-game schedule with two new schools in the conference (and it will).
If Owensboro's west end--say, anywhere from Bosley and Parrish all the way out to the bypass--suddenly begins to redefine the population center of Daviess County this weekend, we'll know why.
Man, I'd love to say "no good deed goes unpunished" right here. But Lexington Herald-Leader writer John Clay beat me to it when he wrote about the reaction some Cincinnati-area residents had to UK Coach John Calipari throwing out the first pitch at the Reds game on Tuesday.
I'll be taking my show on the road Friday from 9am-2pm at Lowe's here in Owensboro. I'll be hanging out with Atmos Energy encouraging you to "call before you dig".
April is National Safe Digging Month and I'll be telling you all about "Call 811"
Earlier tonight, the Owensboro Police Department was looking for Andrew and Emma Vargo. OPD have found these children and they appear to be unharmed.
Via the OPD:

When I lived in Louisville in the early 70's, the Barnstable Sisters,
Patricia and Priscilla, had just finished with the Doublemint Chewing Gum campaign (Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun). One of them was a Miss Kentucky and they both posed for Playboy Magazine. 24 years ago the ladies founded what is the premium party to get into at Derby time. We know whose going to be there the night of May 4 at the Barnstable home in Louisville.
I was in Henderson, Sunday, when I drove past a neon gas price sign that nearly stopped me dead in my tracks. Good thing it didn't; there was a semi behind me. But it did cause me to turn in and fill up my tank, even though I was three-quarters of a tank full. The sign said $3.53 for regular unleaded...$3.53!
You see it all the time. A basketball player dives out of bounds to save a ball, and anyone who happens to be in his path, well...may the Lord have mercy on his or her soul.
Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather. Wheels are actually round?!?!? Fire is actually hot?!?!? And the national champion Kentucky Wildcats will have a whole new look in 2012-2013. Oh, that...yeah.
