WBKR visited The Daniel Pitino Shelter Tuesday, kicking off our "It's Time" community service campaign and I think I can speak for everyone when I say, we left feeling extremely blessed and thankful. We had the pleasure of serving lunch to 175 people and a much better understanding of what the Pitino Shelter really offers this community.
If you're already missing summer in Kentucky, then this isn't going to help. And if, like me, you're a much bigger fan of autumn, well, just picture all the greenery in shades of red, orange, yellow, and gold.
To say we had a blast with the Grape Nuts II tour to Monkey Hollow Winery, is an understatement.... it was a total blast!! 21 listeners plus sales-gal Corena and I traveled to St. Meinrard, Indiana and had a wonderful time at the winery!
Take a look at some of our fun pictures from the day...
University of Kentucky Basketball Coach John Calipari pretty much does things his way. He's known for his non-apologetic acceptance of "one and done" basketball and even recruits players with that mindset. Now, along with helping young kids reach their dreams of playing in the NBA, he's giving them an incredible opportunity.
Hosting an unprecedented scouting combine for NBA personnel prior to the season is crazy, right? Nope... it's just Cal and it's genius.
