What The Heck Did I Just Watch On ABC?!? Billboard Music Awards Leave Little to the Imagination [PHOTOS]

Disclaimer: I am apparently old-fashioned and this is me upset about watching, what I feel like should have aired after 10:00pm on a pay-per-view channel, the Billboard Music Awards.

I realize that music is art and I'm a full believer of this theory. But, I DO NOT think that for you to express yourself, you should leave your pants at home or basically give a dude a lap-dance on stage. Maybe it's just me?!?

Jac’s Hottie Of The Week – Maggie Rose “Better” [VIDEO]

Every Saturday morning, I interrupt Chad and Dave's BKR's Dozen Countdown with my Hottie of the Week! Today, I realized something... some of you may not hear who my hottie is and it's my job to make sure you know about new music! So, here's what we're gonna do... every Saturday, I'll post my Hottie here for your viewing and listening pleasure!

My hottie today is new-comer Maggie Rose. She has a super-smooth voice and I'm pretty much in love with her new single, "Better". We all go through rough times in our life and it can seem like all we need is just to feel a little bit better than the day before. This song embraces this feeling. So, check it out and let me know what you think!

Former Goldie’s Survivor Champion Michael Woosley Releases New Song [Video]

Here at WBKR, we get asked all the time about Goldie's Survivor, our long-running talent contest at Goldie's.  It was a blend of Survivor and American Idol and hundreds of folks each year battled to try and make the 10-week finals.  The contest was basically reality television on stage and the show sold out virtually every week due to equal parts of talent and on-stage drama.  We often get asked how our former champions are doing.  Season Two champion Teresa Cook continues to make fans as Kizzy.  Season Three champion Shannon Sellers lives in Nashville now.  Season Five champion Rollie Pike later went on to win the Battle for The Big O and is with us each year for our St. Jude Radiothon.  And, now, we're hearing from Season 6 champion Michael Woosley, who just released a new duet called "Watch Me."  Check it out!

Opry Legend Jim Ed Brown Releases New Single “In Style Again”

On Tuesday night, Jim Ed Brown, like he has for fifty years, stood in the famed circle at The Grand Ole Opry.  He announced to the crowd that, for the first time in a long time, he was releasing a new single and he was doing it at the age of 79.  See, that's the ebb and flow of any career, but particularly a career in popular music.  Over the course of three decades (the 50's, 60's and 70's), Jim Ed Brown was a proven hitmaker.  But strings of hits just don't last forever.  While the hands on the clock refuse to quit spinning,  the record players and the radio stations often times stop the "spinning" in its tracks.  They routinely start "spinning" tunes from younger artists, the next generation of hitmakers.  But this country music staple, this Grand Ole Opry icon, is still at it . . . with a brand new song in which he professes "I'd like to be in style again someday."

My New Non-Country Obsession: Emeli Sande [Video]

Today on Confessions of a Country Music DJ!  I never buy CD's.  Seriously, I really don't.  The summer I graduated high school I worked at Disc Jockey inside Towne Square Mall and I think I gave just about every paycheck back to Terry Woodward.  I used to buy CD's all the time and then, with the advent of ITunes, stopped cold in my tracks. ITunes is to music what Whitman's was to the Sampler, right?   But, the other day, I caved and bought my first CD in years.  And it wasn't country (insert gasp)!  And it's a CD that is setting HUGE records in the UK!  It's not even American (insert another gasp)!  In fact, Emeli Sande (who is my new non-country obsession and my favorite new Brit) just broke a record that was held by The Beatles for nearly five decades . . .
