April 12, 2013 The Daviess County Band of Pride is hosting a fundraiser event Saturday night! All band families and friends are invited to the auction and dinner this Saturday, April 13th, at Pangea Cafe and Catering. Dinner starts at 6:00pm. There will be a silent auction and a live auction. This is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year. Money raised is used to fund the fall marching season.

And, last night, Candice Glover gave one of the best performances in the history of the show and reminded viewers how good Idol CAN be when it does what it's supposed to . . . turn everyday singers into international superstars. April 10, 2013 There were so many highlights at Owensboro's first-ever Color Blast 5K, it was really hard to count them all. We had the awesome impromptu Harlem Shake video in which 4,000 people threw packets of color up in the air. We had glorious weather and a record-breaking crowd join us at English Park for the biggest 5K in the history of Owensboro-Daviess County. We raised tons of money for six different agencies serving individuals with developmental disabilities. And we had some terrific performances on the Showmobile stage. And one of those performances was delivered by Leland Isbill. Watch this kid play the harmonica! He will knock your socks off!

This morning, on The WBKR Waking Crew, she told us to take a listen to Kenny Chesney's "Pirate Flag" back-to-back with Tom Petty's 1993 hit "Mary Jane's Last Dance." Well, we did and we agree with Kat. We're not sure we've ever head two songs that sound more alike than these two. Take a listen and see what you think!
