Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has declared a local state of emergency due to extreme weather conditions. Apollo High School Employee Arrested For Juvenile Sexual Abuse Allegations

Via The Owensboro Police Department:

On April 10, 2012, the Owensboro Police Department was contacted by Social Services in reference to a case involving the sexual abuse of a juvenile. A detective was assigned to investigate the allegations.

The investigation has revealed that the suspect in this case was an employee at Apollo High School, and that he allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a 17 year-old student. The suspect has been indicted by the Daviess County Grand Jury and was arrested on an indictment warrant. He is lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.

The first-ever Highway 41 Yard Sale is set for June 22-23, 2012 in Western Kentucky, covering over 150 miles.

The sale will include both Highway 41 and Highway 41A. Participating cities on the 41 route include Henderson, Anthoston, Robards, Sebree, Slaughters, Hanson, Madisonville, Earlington, Mortons Gap, Nortonville, Empire, Crofton, Kelly, Hopkinsville, Pembroke, Trenton and Guthrie. Regional Musicians Write Song For Medal Of Honor Recipient [VIDEO]

Three Bowling Green musicians recently wrote a song for the youngest Medal Of Honor recipient, Dakota Meyer. He grew up in Columbia, KY and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2006. A school trained sniper and highly skilled Marine infantryman, Sgt. Meyer deployed twice to combat duty. In 2007, he deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom, and during 2009-10, he deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom In September 2011, he was awarded the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government, The Medal Of Honor. He is the third living recipient of the Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War, and the first living United States Marine in 38 years to be so honored.
