Owensboro Teen On Bike Hit By SUV

A Daviess County High School student was struck by a SUV while riding his bicycle on Tuesday. Sixteen year-old Elijah Eckstein was riding across Old Hartford Road, when he was hit. He is currently in intensive care at St. Mary's with a head injury, broken ribs, pelvis, collar bone, and a back injury.

When Marching Bands Meet Pop Culture [PHOTOS]

Okay, I've written about it before, and this won't be the last time I write about it, but I love marching band! I am a proud alum of the Ohio County Marching Eagles, and I attended the 60th Ohio Co. Marching Band Festival (the oldest in Kentucky!!) over the weekend with my sister. In 2015, show themes have certainly changed. Thunderbirds Dedicate Owensboro Air Show Performance To Fallen Tri-State Soldiers

I knew that I would really enjoy the time I was going to get to spend around the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, but I underestimated how impressive they would be. Sure, the jets and show are awesome, but it was their general demeanor toward our town that was so memorable.

Chad and I were able to spend time with them before his flight Thursday and I was overwhelmed by how polite, humbling, generous and gracious they were with everyone they interacted with.

But, it was what I saw circulating on Facebook this evening that brought tears to my eyes.
