Relay For Life 2011

The 2011 Daviess County RELAY FOR LIFE is coming up Friday night at Diamond Lake Campground and Resort!  It's an amazing evening of celebration and remembrance and each and everyone of you is invited to come out and join in the fun!  This is my 2nd year serving as the Chairperson of Relay in Daviess County and my committee and I have worked so hard to make this event one of the county's most spectacular.  And I promise you, Friday night is going to knock your socks off and we are going to put up one helluva fight against CANCER!  You know . . . the old saying goes . . . Cancer never sleeps and we won't either.  You are d%@$ right!

No Absentee Voting Saturday Due to Bar-B-Que Fest Fun.

Street closings in downtown Owensboro will force Absentee voting to be canceled at the Clerk's Office. The Clerk's Office will be open on Monday May 16th from 8AM to 4:30PM for voters who need to absentee vote. Of course Tuesday May 17th is the Primary Election Day in KY

Red Cross Flooding Update

Well, you don't need me to tell you . . . but the rain, rain WON'T GO AWAY and flooding problems continue throughout the tri-state.  School systems have dismissed classes, flood waters continue to cover local roadways and highways, dozens of families are displaced, many have homes completely surrounded by water and the volunteers at the American Red Cross are working around the clock to offer flood relief to the area.

Osama bin Laden Killed in Pakistan, President Obama Confirms

In a stunning development, President Barack Obama confirmed late Sunday evening that Osama bin Laden, the leader of terrorist group Al-Qaeda responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks, was killed Sunday in Pakistan.

Obama made the announcement in a televised address shortly after 11:30 PM ET, about an hour after reports of bin Laden's death had made their way onto the Internet.

Kentucky Back in the Final Four…in May?

Sunday night is a great night for television. Clearly we had no idea how great it was going to turn out to be. But tucked away earlier in the evening was the third-place finish of our favorite reality show father/daughter team on CBS' "The Amazing Race."
