Hampton Coach Looks To The Big Guy For Help To Beat UK [VIDEO]

The good news is that Hampton won its opening round game in the NCAA Tournament and advances. The bad news is they face the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Demolition City Roller Derby Owensboro Takeover This Sunday

I can't roller skate or ice skate at all, which saddens me because I would love to be part of a roller derby team. Evansville's Demolition City Roller Derby gals will be returning to Owensboro this Sunday (3/22) for an exhibition match at Skates Alive!

Icemen Gets NHL Call Up

The Evansville Icemen season hasn't turned out quite like planned, but one player has reason to celebrate. Goalkeeper Chris Driedger was recalled by the NHL's Ottawa Senators. This is the second time the Senators have called up Driedger, the first being February 17th.
Driedger is expected to play tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh.
With Driedger recalled, the Icemen have signed Alex Vazzano to fill his roster spot. Vazzano (which is an awesome hockey name, ha!) will join the Icemen for their game Friday against the Florida Everblades.
Although the season is winding down, there is still time for you to check out the Icemen!

The Longest Volleyball Point Ever [Video]

This is crazy!  In fact, I am remembering back the days when Jaclyn and I played in the Owensboro Parks Department's recreational volleyball league.  We lasted just one season (we were awful).  Our goal was just to keep the ball in play and not hit each other in the back of the head or Marcia Brady each other in the nose.  THIS is insane. This point lasts for one minute and 45 seconds and features sixteen switches in the rally.  No wonder it holds a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest point ever.  WATCH!

UC Irvine’s Mamadou N’diaye Will Be Tallest Player In NCAA Tournament [PHOTOS & VIDEO]

Well, it's here, the Madness! The most equally satisfying yet frustrating three weeks in sports all year. We know the narrative, the Kentucky Wildcats have an excellent shot at a championship and the ever elusive perfect season. They have the size, the defense, and the shooters to make it happen. However, what UK doesn't have is a 7'6" center. Big West champs UC-Irvine (the Anteaters!) do. Let me introduce Sophmore Mamadou N'Diaye (pronounced N jai).

Kentucky Is the Overall #1 Seed, Louisville a 4-Seed in 2015 NCAA Tournament

Selection Sunday is my Christmas. Well, it's another type of Christmas for me. I love it. I get out the notebook on which I have already constructed my own bracket and fill it in as they start naming schools. This year, I already had one filled in before the announcement.

UK Now 34-0; That Should Make One Clever Kentucky Pastor Very Happy

So, when you're in church and it's a light crowd, say, like on a Sunday night, and most of the crowd is sitting toward the back, the pastor will often ask everyone to move up and fill in the front pews. Well, one Kentucky pastor and HUGE 'Cat fan devised a clever way of accomplishing that.

Willie Cauley-Stein has had quiet games. And then, of course, Karl-Anthony Towns or Trey Lyles or Marcus Lee step up. But in Saturday afternoon's SEC semi-final against Auburn, WCS was louder than thunder.

Dick Vitale Campaigning For Murray St. NCAA Bid [PHOTO]

Just as Louisville's Mangok Mathiang hit the go-ahead shot to eventually defeat Virginia in their final regular season game last Saturday, the OVC Men's title game in Nashville between Belmont and Murray St. was going down to the wire. For Murray St., their 25 game winning streak, the second longest in the country behind Kentucky, was broken when Taylor Barnette hit a crazy three-pointer that basically sealed the victory and automatic bid for the Bears, who will be making their 7th appearance in the NCAA tournament. However, college commentator Dick Vitale thinks the Racers deserve a bid. Just take a look at his social media posts.
