On last night's "The Voice", Blake Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert performed a very heartfelt acoustic version of her song "Over You" in honor all of those affected by the recent Oklahoma tornado. The two wrote the song in memory of Blake's brother that past away several years ago. The couple have a residence in Oklahoma and are visibly shaken during the performance.
As we learned from Rip Torn in the movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball! If you can dodge traffic, you can dodge a ball." But as we learned from our new WBKR intern, Jordan Roos, you can't dodge a DOZEN balls being launched by the 3rd graders at St. Wendel Catholic School in Wadesville, Indiana. This is brutal! LOL! And you have to watch. Jordan never stood a chance!
A classmate of mine vomiting during the ceremony. That's what I remember most about my high school graduation. A fellow Daviess County High School senior, who shall remain nameless, was power-puking during graduation because she had gotten hammered shortly before all the pomp and circumstance began. As soon as I heard the heaving, I was immediately glad that my last name started with a "B" and she was rows and rows back in the latter half of the alphabet! But, I suppose if motivational speaker Josh Shipp had delivered THIS speech in front of the Daviess County High School Class of '89, I would have remembered it the most. This is incredible, honest, funny and, most of all, right on the money. If you know someone in the Class of 2013, someone about to begin their quest to make a mark on the world, make them watch this video!
The devastation caused by the tornado yesterday in Oklahoma is heart breaking. I think it's safe to say that we all held our children a little tighter last night and prayed a little harder than normal after watching the terrifying coverage of the storm. We all pray for survivors to be found and for those who lost loved ones to be comforted in this nightmare.
As a television station was interviewing an elderly woman, the unthinkable happened. Just as she was talking about her storm experience with her dog, who she had presumed was gone, the dog peeked his little head from under the rubble of what was once their home.
We watch with hope in our hearts and tears in our eyes that there are many more stories just like this one and that everyone is found safe.
Last night, in the finals of Dancing with the Stars, country star Kellie Pickler danced a breathtaking freestyle routine that had the audience and one judge in tears. WATCH!
Everyone pops a squat, right? But not everyone gets caught on camera doing it. You have to watch this! This is hilarious. The Daily Hiit offers free, daily workouts online and has dozens and dozens of videos available on the web. But it's THIS one that has proven to be the most popular. Not for the workout, but for the poor guy who was accidentally filmed on the toilet in the next room. LOL! Pay special attention to the left-hand side of the screen at the 12, 21 and 33-second marks. WATCH!
I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream, right? Well, tonight on Celebrity Apprentice everyone's going to be screaming as we crown a brand new champion. For the last challenge, Donald Trump's finalists, Vegas magician and mastermind Penn Jillette and country music superstar Trace Adkins, had to develop a brand new flavor of ice cream for the new Walgreens DeLish brand. Penn Jillette concocted a new flavor called Vanilla and Chocolate Magic Swirtle. Trace came up with the Maple Macadamia Mash Up. Here at WBKR, thanks to a special ice cream delivery from our friend April Faught, we decided to put them to a good old-fashioned taste test. WATCH!
Every Saturday morning, I interrupt Chad and Dave's BKR's Dozen Countdown with my Hottie of the Week! Today, I realized something... some of you may not hear who my hottie is and it's my job to make sure you know about new music! So, here's what we're gonna do... every Saturday, I'll post my Hottie here for your viewing and listening pleasure!
My hottie today is new-comer Maggie Rose. She has a super-smooth voice and I'm pretty much in love with her new single, "Better". We all go through rough times in our life and it can seem like all we need is just to feel a little bit better than the day before. This song embraces this feeling. So, check it out and let me know what you think!
Will it be Candice Glover or Kree Harrison? Last night, our two American Idol finalists competed in the first all-female finale since Idol's third season. So, who won the night and earned the crown? WBKR's Idol expert, Steve Thompson, chimes in . . .
Tonight, Nashville resident Kree Harrison is going to face off with Candice Glover in part one the American Idol finale. Recently, here at WBKR, we stumbled across some footage of Kree from WAY back in the day. LOL! Check her out in this archived video from The Rosie O'Donnell Show. Ten-year-old Kree belted out Martina McBride's "A Broken Wing!"
Lady Antebellum's big #1 smash "Downtown" got to its peak so quickly that by the time their new album Golden was released to stores and online retailers, we were ready for the second single.
