As the year officially comes to its close, I have decided to share my picks for the Best Songs of 2012. Some on my list made yours. Others may be a surprise. So, here goes . . .
I saw a hilarious snowman prank video on the news last night and decided I had to share it. Well, apparently, snowman pranks are really, really popular this year.
I really can't believe I am contributing to the madness. But, I grew up watching my grandfather yell at the television anytime the Kentucky Wildcats were playing basketball. He'd yell when they were awesome. He'd yell even louder when they were terrible. So, I completely understand that some people "bleed blue." I have seen it with my own eyes and heard it, repeatedly, with my own ears. And this video and original song that scores it are for every UK Wildcat fan out there who is as dedicated to the team as Russell F. Adams.
Ya'll know I am huge fan of severe weather. And I am particularly fascinated by it when it shows up in unexpected and extreme places. 34 separate tornadoes wreaked havoc in the Gulf on Christmas Day and lots of footage of those storms is surfacing online. But, for me, some of the coolest footage from the holiday's weather breakout came from some folks who were crossing the never-ending Lake Ponchartrain Causeway. That bridge seems daunting and eternal when you drive it in normal circumstances. Just imagine trying to tackle it with THIS in the water!
This is awesome! I know the holiday is officially over, but I couldn't resist posting this early on a snowy and "silent" morning. Meet Rascal! He's the self-proclaimed "world's ugliest dog" and he's quite talented. This is Rascal singing "Silent Night" and, given the fact snow dampened noise all over the tri-state during the overnight hours, it's quite fitting for our Blizzard Warning Wednesday! Enjoy!
One thing we all know about those LoCash Cowboys is that they know how to have a good time! Well, this Christmas is no different! Their new holiday jam, "What Time Is It" is SO much fun and the video is just the same!
Family, friends and redneck fun! Take a look and see for yourself! Cheers!
One of my favorite Christmas songs has got to be "Baby It's Cold Outside". Through the years I have enjoyed the classic Dean Martin version. However, this year when the version was released featuring Dean Martin and Martina McBride, I decided to look for other versions of the song
It was a nice, quiet day at a Montreal park, when all of a sudden, a golden eagle swoops down and attempts to snatch a baby sitting on the grass.
Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup" song and video took 2012 by storm! I mean, who wasn't sick of hearing it? But, how can you not sing along to it? Ha!
Well, just for the Holidays, Toby has released a special Holiday version for your viewing pleasure!
Sidenote: I'm pretty sure I attended that party dozens of times at WKU! ;)
Happy 12-12-12, everybody! On an occasion that only happens once every century--so I'm safely assuming this is the only one a great many of us will have--I thought it would be fun go all "twelve" on you. Yep, it's time to "twelve" it up with 12 Twelves for Your 12/12/12.
I couldn't really have picked any better timing for this installment of Shoulda Been a Hit. It's December and we have had highs in the 60's nearly all week long. We are truly experiencing an Indian Summer here in the tri-state and that got me thinking about one of my favorite Brooks and Dunn hits. Yep! "Indian Summer." You guys are quick. It's hard to believe, but this song was the duo's second-to-last chart single. And, back in 2009, it stalled at a mere #16 on the Billboard Country Chart. But, truly, it should have been a hit.
