Another country light has gone out. News has come in that country star Jack Greene passed away Thursday night in his sleep at the age of 83. It is believed that he passed away due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

Greene was best known for his song “There goes My Everything” which earned him CMA awards for single of the year, album of the year, song of the year, and male vocalist of the year in 1967. He had also been nominated for a Grammy on three separate occasions.

Other hits included "All the Time," "What Locks the Door" and "Statue of a Fool," and "Wish I Didn't Have to Miss You," a duet with Jeeannie Seely.
