The Dixie Chicks thrilled European fans recently by announcing they’d be reuniting and going on tour across the pond, but is it possible the band will take a tour stateside? According to Natalie Maines' Twitter page, it might be in the cards.

The lead singer responded to a fan who asked if they were “ready to play nice” (a reference to their song "Not Ready to Make Nice”) yet and perform in the States, giving American fans hope for a U.S. tour.

The Chicks, one of the best-selling U.S. female groups of all time, went on a six-date European tour this spring and have set new dates for 2016, including shows in Amsterdam, Birmingham, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. Their comeback arrives nearly a decade after the release of their most recent all-original album, 2006's Taking the Long Way, and fans couldn’t be more thankful in light of Maines’ 2013 comments that a reunion was unlikely, primarily due to their reputation.

As fans will recall, the band sparked controversy after comments by Maines at a London show in 2003 disowning then-President Bush in regard to his approach to the war in Iraq, saying to the crowd, "We don’t want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.” Though these comments plagued the group in the following years, particularly due to many American radio stations refusing to play their music, the Chicks have maintained a loyal fanbase over the years and remain icons in country.

Tour info for the European shows is available on the Dixie Chicks’ website.
