Beer. It's pretty much the only alcoholic beverage I enjoy. I've never been a girly drink kind of gal. I'll maybe occasionally have some whiskey or a mixed rum drink, but that's it. I'd rather drink a cold beer when I'm out and about. I thought I would tell you about the five I enjoy the most. So grab a frosty glass and kick back!

One note before I begin, I am NOT a fan of imports. It's not that I have anything against them, I just don't like the taste. For the record, Newcastle Brown Ale is the only import I've ever liked, and I haven't had one in over ten years. Oh well, here we go.

5. Abita Purple Haze: I discovered the New Orleans-based brew this summer. Now I know I've said I don't enjoy girly drinks, but this beer tastes a little bit girly. That's because it's brewed with raspberries after filtration. I know one time I tried a beer that had a gumball taste to it, YUCK!, so I was apprehensive to try Purple Haze, but it's really refreshing and it's very delicious.

4. Bud Light: A classic, and it's my go-to if my number 1 is not on special or available. When I think of beer, I think of Budweiser and St. Louis, two things I enjoy. If my Cardinals win a few post-season games, I'm going to try to get back to Busch Stadium and, no matter the crazy price, drink a Bud Light.

3. Michelob Ultra: Welcome to the lightest beer on the list. Yes, at 95 calories, Ultra is good stuff, and I'm sure you've seen the skinny cans it comes in. The skinny cans add up quickly, but I don't know anything about that. Shhhhhhhhhhhhh! Speaking of St. Louis...

2. Schlafly Hefeweizen: It has a German name, but this American Ale, also brewed in St. Louis, is a nice change of pace from the usual domestic beer. It's also light, but it has a little bit of body to it. Schlafly only distributes to within 300 miles of St. Louis, lucky I fall in that distance!

And of course....the beer that says America and it "tastes great"...

1. Miller Lite: Since 1855, this triple hops brewed Pilsner sets the standard for domestic light beer. At 96 calories, it's light, refreshing, and it's my very favorite beer. Just don't ask for one at Busch Stadium.
