Have y'all seen the news from Florida of wild rumors regarding a possible visit from extraterrestrial beings? Something very strange might have happened at a mall in Miami that involved a whole cavalcade of law enforcement vehicles and an airport shutdown. Witnesses supposedly had their phones stripped down to destroy evidence of the purported ten-foot-tall dark figures that were appearing and disappearing all around the area. The police statement referred to the incident as an altercation among a group of teens with fireworks, but something seems off.

If aliens did visit Miami, they surely did NOT receive any Southern hospitality. However, there is Southern hospitality to spare in Lexington, Kentucky and the folks at VisitLEX welcome any otherworldly travelers who might be planning a trip to planet Earth.

With the help of a team of scientists, a message was sent from the Kentucky Horse Park via infrared laser to TRAPPIST-1. The name of the second most studied solar system other than our own.  It also has the most planets with conditions similar to Earth, which experts say that makes them potentially habitable.

The only drawback is that it is 40 light-years away, so it's gonna take a while for the message to get to its destination and then possibly 40 more years for a response or visit from the recipient/s.

VisitLEX President Mary Quinn Ramer said "We believe Lexington is the best place on Earth. It’s the ideal location for extraterrestrial travelers to begin exploring our world. Lexington is also home to the best food, bourbon, music, and art planet Earth has to offer." What more could an adventuring alien wish for?

Beautiful, green, rolling acres of horse farms are featured in "The Extraterrestrial's Guide to Lexington," as the perfect parking spot for spacecraft. It goes on to explain what horses are and to drink bourbon with caution as humans really aren't sure what kind of reaction it might cause to an alien life form. So hilarious! Dr. Brenna Byrd, an expert in languages and linguistics says "Come to Lexington! We have horses and bourbon. Just don’t eat us.”

Travelers here on Earth are obviously also welcome to explore Lexington as well and visit the Visitor's Center where the contents of the message are on display. Those contents include "photos of Lexington, to an audio recording from legendary blues musician Tee Dee Young, to a coded bitmap image containing clues to the origin and intent of the transmission." Folks can also leave messages to future visitors from other planets. What message would you leave for an alien visiting Kentucky?
