Come out to support America's Bravest in the Firefighter Combat Challenge this weekend in Louisville!

Strength and Skills are overflowing at the Firefighter Combat Challenge beginning this evening in Louisville.  The event lasts up through tomorrow evening and showcases what firefighters are all about!
Firefighters from across the country will demonstrate their strength and skills during the Firefighter Combat Challenge this weekend. The event will begin at 5 p.m., Friday, August 21 in the city parking lot at the corner of 2nd and Liberty Streets. The event continues at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 at the same location.

The Kentucky Fire Commission is the local host of the event. The demands of firefighters will be simulated during this 2 day event.  One on one competitions will be held and they will be competing against their opponent and the clock, wearing "full bunker gear" and their Air-Pak breathing apparatus, to tackle a linked series of five tasks including climbing a five-story tower, hoisting, chopping, dragging hoses and rescuing a life-sized, 175 lb. “victim.”

The youngsters are welcome too!  Kids ages 4-11 can show their strength as well in the Kid's Firefighter Challenger course on Friday and Saturday beginning at 5pm!
