Popular Wawa Convenience Store Expands to KY & IN: Here’s Where You Can Grub on an Epic Sub

Fans of Wawa rejoice! What is a Wawa you may ask? It's a convenience store from Pennsylvania with a cult following rivaling Bucee's glorious beaver land.

Only this chain is represented by a goose and epic sub sandwiches. Wawa is the Ojibwe name for snow goose which represents the region where the store chain was founded. Mostly popular along the East Coast, they have been rapidly expanding to the Midwest over the past couple of years. They have teased Kentucky and Indiana locations recently and now we know where they will be.

Wawa stores carry lots of your favorite gas station snack favorites and plenty of gas pumps to fill up your car without having to wait, but why in the world do people seem to be totally obsessed with a pitstop location? Future Indiana Wawa Locations

According to Inside Indiana Business, "The convenience store chain plans to invest $420 million to add 60 stores throughout the Hoosier State over the next 8-10 years, with the first round of stores primarily located in central Indiana." Here is where the first round of fifteen Wawas will be built beginning with the first groundbreaking in 2024.

• Johnson County: U.S. 31 & Worthsville Road, Greenwood
• Madison County: State Road 232 & State Road 9, Anderson

Future Kentucky Wawa Locations

WDRB reported, " The chain plans to open about 40 stores across the Kentucky region in the next 8-10 years. The first groundbreakings are expected in the middle of next year, with the first stores scheduled to open in 2025." Here is where the initial round of Wawas will be located:

• Jefferson County: 9650 Preston Crossing Boulevard, near Cooper Chapel Road, Louisville
• Jefferson County: 7203 Apple Mill Drive, near the intersection with Outer Loop and Vaughn Mill, Louisville
• Jefferson County: 4213 Bardstown Road, near Fegenbush Lane, Louisville
• Jefferson County: 12415 Taylorsville Road, near the intersection with Sweeney Lane, Louisville
• Oldham County: 2706 Kentucky 393,  La Grange
• Bulllitt County: 415 Oakbrooke Drive, Mt. Washington
• Fayette County: 4075 Old Richmond Rd, Lexington
• Oldham County: Highway 393 & Commerce Parkway, Buckner

Additional stores will be popping up in Boone, Hardin, Jessamine, Scott, Shelby, and Warren Counties, so be on the lookout if you live, work, or play in those areas.  As locations are built throughout the tristate, the folks at Wawa will be actively searching for the best places to build.  They will keep in mind various market factors including proximity to major highways and travel routes.
