HirePatriots.com was launched 10 years ago after a Marine, who'd just returned home from Iraq, discovered his wife was out of work and his utilities had been turned off. His request for any work that would earn him a little money became a national program aimed at employing returning veterans.

Over the last 10 years, HirePatriots has been combating the veteran unemployment crisis through the development and implementation of several different projects and programs.

Waging THIS particular battle will also help the lower the veteran homelessness suicide rate as well.

Simply put, their work is vital.

One HirePatriots project supplies disabled vets with the resources they need to become entrepreneurs. It's called USMM and it focuses, typically, on commercial janitorial services as well as building and grounds maintenance.

Owensboro native Richard Hedges is a disabled veteran who served in Afghanistan and Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division from 1999 to 2005.

He started USMM of Western Kentucky with the help of HirePatriots with the goal of bringing this business model to the Owensboro area and western Kentucky.

He will hire veterans and their families, with priority given to combat and disabled vets. Plus, each month, he will donate 10% of the company's profits to HirePatriots and Patriotic Hearts, which provides essential services and assistance to US veterans and their families.

It's an extraordinary mission, needless to say. To find out more CLICK HERE.

USMM of Western Kentucky is located at 2207 W. 1st Street in Owensboro.
