Over the weekend, there was some confusion about how many states there are in the U.S.  I knew there were 50 but guess who thought there were 52... Oh, Margaret.  They ran out of space for the other two stars on the flag apparently.  I think the problem with that is she thought that there were 50 on the mainland and Hawaii and Alaska were "51 and 52".

If you want a challenge, this is the greatest and possibly one of the most frustrating things to do to stay occupied during those boring nights.  Grab a piece of paper and number it 1-50 then begin writing all the states.

I tried this one night and I got an impressive 48, beating Margaret by 7 and tying with her father.  The following day I only got 41, losing to Margaret by 5!  Something happened to my brain.  When there is that much to think of, your brain kind of just quits on you.

I have a few tips.  Start with the Northeastern States.  (New England is not a state and neither is New Island) Start up there and go all the way down to Florida and back up then down again. Some like to take the alphabetical route or the region route; however, I think that just going from coast to coast would be a tad easier.  It takes a lot of thinking and getting over frustration to get through this.  Give it a shot and see what happens.
