Is the Season Terminal for Smash?

Word is that this is the last season for the NBC musical-dramedy "Smash". The first season I loved that show. Katherine McPhee and Debra Messing (two lovely women starring) -- what could go wrong?  I mean the theme was who would portray Marilyn Monroe in a Broadway musical. Success was written all over it.

Nope. The ratings declined weekly and this season the show was moved to the graveyard known as Saturday night.

Oh, the reason everyone suspects the show is over? Debra Messing has signed to a new show and it is written by the creators of Smash.
