It was another awesome live broadcast from the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. I usually get to do two a year--one in the summer, one around Christmas time. Last summer, the hotel was still recovering and rebuilding from the flood that devastating much of Nashville in May 2010. I was able to return last November and this past Thursday I was joined on the air by the director of public relations for Gaylord Opryland, Jenny Barker along with marketing and PR coordinator Rob Regg. They shared all the scoop about Country Music Summer at Gaylord...and a sneak peek at what we can look forward to this Christmas.

There are so many great features of Country Music Summer at Gaylord. And you can find out everything you need to know at gaylordopryland.com. My two favorites would have to be Country Look-Alike Breakfast and Dive-In Movies.

COUNTRY LOOK-ALIKE BREAKFAST

Country Look-Alike Breakfast takes place at Gaylord's amazing Mexican restaurant, Solario, on Saturday and Sunday mornings. And sometimes you might even see "Garth Brooks" and "Trisha Yearwood" strolling the halls. Guests have even been known to get pictures with them, not knowing they're impersonators. Hilarious! It reminds of me of when you're in downtown Nashville and you see all these guys walking up and down Broadway with their western shirts and cowboy hats and people stop and kind of peer at them to see if they're anybody famous. Hey, they could be!

DIVE-IN MOVIES

Okay, this one blows me away. And it's so simple. You take a great big movie screen, you put it up out by the pool next to the hotel's Magnolia section, and everyone in or around the pool can watch movies. I love this! Dive-In Movies happen 7 nights a week from 8-10pm and will feature such blockbusters as "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", and "Catch Me If You Can." Not only is it an incredibly cool idea, the movies are terrific.

Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center offers some terrific specially-priced packages. Take a look and then take advantage, especially if you're looking for a stay-cation type idea for the summertime. You will NEVER be disappointed with Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.
