This is absolutely hilarious! It's also incredibly moving. Bowel moving.

Benjamin Crabtree, who lives in Nashville, Tennessee, was home for the holidays to visit his family for Christmas. When he needed to use the restroom at his sister's house in Owensboro, Kentucky, he got quite an eyeful.

I'll admit it. I am what many people call "potty shy." I have issues going to the restroom anywhere other than my own house. There are lots of people like me running around. And, yes! We're running- trying to find a restroom where we feel free to just let 'er rip. Personally speaking, various conditions have to be met before I can purge. I need privacy, a safe space to concentrate, and some measure of ambient noise (a fan or YouTube). These cheeks have only been on public porcelain twice since 1997- once at a Jewish Community Center in Los Angeles California ('97) and once in the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris ('21).

All that personal information now publicly stated, I am excited to share that Benjamin's sister Katie may have created the safest space ever imaginable. As Ben discovered, the walls of her bathroom are decorated with people- celebrities- who seem to be cheering you on.

Here are the portraits that hang behind the door. If you're popping a squat at Katie's, this is what you're looking at when you try to jar one loose.

And, there's more where that came from. Directly above the toilet, you'll see this! Yep. That's the classic toilet scene from Dumb & Dumber.

I suppose there's some merit to modeling the appropriate and intended behavior and that's exactly what Katie Sterling has accomplished in the main bathroom of her home. She says, "We strive to have 'not-so-serious' decor" and there's no doubt that mission has been accomplished. There's even a guest registry where you can sign in and leave comments about your experience.

And as (or ass) for those 'missions', I'd say that with that kind of visual encouragement, all systems are go at the Sterling house. Here are Ben and Katie chatting about it!
