Chad and I were chatting with Matthew Thompson this morning and Matthew is a huge Aaron Lewis fan. Matthew wanted to hear "Endless Summer" by Aaron. I told him, well it's ending this week! As as summer 2012 comes to an end, Little Big Town continues to hold down the No. 1 position on the country singles chart with their smash, 'Pontoon', which some have called summer 2012's official song.

Co-writer Luke Laird has had ten #1 songs including "So Small", "Last Name", "Temporary Home", "Undo It" -- any other Carrie Underwood songs? - Not yet! He has written tons of hits for lots of stars. Co-writer Natalie Hemby has a bunch of top ten tunes, too. Especially for Miranda Lambert. But, the third writer, Barry Dean, has his first chart-topper.

Alanna Conaway from Taste of Country is here to tell us what's waiting in the wings.

Waiting in the wings at No. 2 this week is Hunter Hayes with his hit 'Wanted,' followed by Josh Turner's 'Time Is Love' at No. 3, Jason Aldean's 'Take a Little Ride' at No. 4 and Jana Kramer's 'Why Ya Wanna' at No. 5.

Finishing out the Top 10 are Keith Urban's 'For You' at No. 6, newcomer Dustin Lynch with 'Cowboys and Angels' at No. 7, Carrie Underwood's 'Blown Away' at No. 9 and Easton Corbin's 'Lovin' You Is Fun' at No. 10. Tim McGraw is inching his way closer to the Top 10 with his current single, 'Truck Yeah,' which is No. 11 on Mediabase / Country Aircheck and No. 12 on Billboard.
