He was a key component in the Louisville Cardinals' 2013 national title run, scoring 15 points in the championship game. But, now, Chane Behanan will be sitting for the foreseeable future following an indefinite suspension.

Neither Cards' head coach Rick Pitino nor athletic director Tom Jurich will identify specific reasons for the suspension other than to say that Behanan committed a violation of university policy, but it's clear through comments about the Behanan suspension that Pitino is not only very unhappy but also very disappointed.

No one outside the team's inner circle knows what's happened, but it's still a shame that a great talent like Behanan would do something that would cost him a great deal of playing time and incur the scorn of someone for whom he obviously has a great deal of respect.

Pitino has given no indication of when Behanan will return.
