NASCAR Goes to the Poconos
Wikipedia tells us this about the Pocono Race Track:
Pocono Raceway, a major automobile racetrack, is home to an Indy Car race, the Pocono 400, and two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The Pocono 400 this weekend and the Pennsylvania 400 in August. It also serves as a racing school and motorcycle track.
Privately owned, Pocono Raceway is the closest track to Philadelphia and the major metropolitan areas of New York and New Jersey.
Jimmie Johnson’s crew chief Chad Knaus told Fox News he likes the track and thinks Johnson can win his third race in a row. “It’s one of my favorite race tracks. It’s a lot of fun and it’s very difficult.”
Matt Kenseth said, “Pocono is a huge race track. We get a lot of top speed there. There are only three corners there. It’s very unique. There is nothing else like it.”
You can hear the race coverage beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday on 92.5 WBKR and wbkr.com.
