NBC to Make Movie Based on Dolly Parton’s ‘Coat of Many Colors’

Dolly Parton is not only one of the greatest, most legendary, most easily-recognizable entertainers on the planet, she is ABSOLUTELY one of its best songwriters.

There are many Dolly Parton songs that would make great inspirational material for a movie.

(And 9 to 5 doesn't count; the movie came first.)

Coat of Many Colors--based on Dolly's timeless classic about a special gift from her mother--will be the first film developed and produced under a new deal the superstar inked with NBC.

No word yet on when production will begin on the film which is slated to air on the Peacock Network next season.
