Ever since the downtown area and the riverfront have been revitalized, lots of new sculptures and one giant mural have popped up. Here's a few of Owensboro's newest "objects of art".

So, this giant mural was new to me. It caught me off guard quite a bit. It's down the street from the backside, outdoor seating at Fetta. Poor fish! It's beautifully detailed.

This sculpture, which right by the giant hawk mural, is in recognition of the harvest season, the farmers, and a simpler time. "Harvest Dreams"

Limestone horse sculpture

It's an unfinished horse, I'm not sure if it's intentional, carved out of limestone. Again, it has beautiful details. It's named "Escape".

Anchor lanterns art

Here's where the art gets mysterious. I see a group of giant lanterns and they are chained and anchored? This is between McConnell Plaza and the back of the Hampton Inn. What are these?

Obeon head sculpture

I swear his eyes were following me. It's so cool. His name is Oberon. Upon further investigation, all of the sculptures are part of the River Artes project in coordination with the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art. More outdoor art will be appearing soon. I can't wait!
