Early Thursday morning, around 5:30AM, Owensboro police responded to firearm discharge call in the 3800 block of South Griffith.

An investigation led the officers to four juveniles who had been throwing fireworks from a vehicle which had been reported stolen.

At about the same time, police received another call regarding a stolen vehicle that was blocking the roadway in the 700 block of Turtle Creek Drive.

Additionally, a third vehicle located near the juveniles had also been reported stolen. Plus, two handguns were recovered and one of THEM had been reported stolen.

The four juveniles, who range in age from 14 to 17 years old, have been charged in connection with three vehicle thefts and a home burglary that happened in the 4600 block of Harbor Hills Trace.

Several other charges--among them 2nd degree assault and drug possession--were not related to these calls.
