Why is it only '"spring cleaning"? I much prefer THAT kind of tidying up in the fall when the air is less humid and it's just generally more comfortable.

Part of our cleaning project in the weeks to come will HAVE to include the bags and boxes of old bills and statements that have piled up. I'll admit to being a bit of a hoarder regarding papers that contain personal information. There could be really be some OLD material in those bags and boxes; I'm almost afraid to look.

Another Free Shredding Event in Owensboro

The thing is, I don't have to look. I just have to get them ready for another free shredding event. No, I don't have so much that I need multiple occasions; I just missed the last one...and the one before that.

But I'm in luck, and maybe you are too. Independence Bank is hosting a free shredding event on Thursday, October 19th at its branch on 24th and Frederica Streets. It will take place between 10 AM and 1 PM. There is no weight limit, but the bank does ask that you limit your haul to five bags and/or boxes. I'm not sure who will be conducting the free shred, but here's what a full-scale community shred looks like, to give you some idea:

If you've never participated in a free shredding event, Independence Bank has recommendations about what to include--bank statements, credit card statements, old tax returns, receipts, pay stubs, expired debit or credit cards, utility bills, medical bills, and invoices.

So get it all together if it isn't and get ready for an awesome opportunity to clear out some clutter and get ready for the holiday season.
