Publisher’s Clearing House Calls? Be Aware They’re Phony

Mean ol' people are calling folks in the Owensboro area to rob them of their money. The scam involves Publisher's Clearing House.  Of course, the Publisher's Clearing House runs a ton of TV ads, so folks are more vulnerable to the claim. Owensboro Police Department says the caller tells the victim they've won money in the company's cash contest. Then, they ask for money to be withdrawn from their bank account. The number originates from a 876 area code. So, be aware they're phony.
